travel: kansas city, mo

Last month, Nate and I took a quick (24 hour) trip to Kansas City. If you are headed to K.C. and want to get the most out of your stay, here’s what you need to know:

No Vacancy Hotel - We stayed at ‘No Vacancy’, and wow. It was a magical, beautiful, and unique experience full of personalized touches, funky decor, blissful smells, and short walks to anything we needed.

Messenger Coffee Co. - Our Saturday morning was greeted by a very tasty chocolate croissant, iced matcha, and iced vanilla latte. This is the type of place you can go to chat, study, meet a friend, or just sit and relax, as we immediately felt comforted by the warm, and inviting space.

Billy’s Grocery - If you are looking for farm-to-table style food, unique combos, and beautiful pastries, look no further. Nate and I had no trouble finding something to eat here, as the options varied from burgers + chicken sandwiches, to nourishing salads, and thai bowls. Finding a table was no easy task, so if you’re heading there with a group, plan accordingly. However, we took this as a sign that the food must be good, and we were not mistaking. 10/10 will definitely be going back.

Kansas City Plaza - If you’ve been to Kansas City, you most likely stopped by the Plaza, as they are known for their shopping and restaurants. Not necessarily a “must” if you are only here for a short period of time, however after the drive down from Omaha, it was nice to get out, stretch, and walk around window shopping.
